It started with a small wound on his ear. At first, we thought it was just a simple infection.
Piko received Bravecto, antibiotics, and even anti-fungal medication, but no matter what we tried, the wound wouldn’t heal.
Weeks passed, and nothing improved. That’s when our vet in Bali suspected something more serious: possibly a tumor in the ear.
The only way to know for sure was to perform surgery and send a sample to the lab for a biopsy.
The Biopsy Result: Malignant Tumor in a Dog

The results came back, and our fears were confirmed:
Piko has a malignant epithelial tumor — a type of aggressive cancer in dogs.
Unlike benign tumors, malignant tumors grow quickly, can return after removal, and may spread to other areas of the body.
The surgery helped remove the visible tumor, but there’s a chance some cancer cells remain.
What Happens Next?
Right now, Piko is stable. He’s calm, he’s eating, and he enjoys quiet moments with us. But this isn’t over.
We’ll be monitoring him closely – with regular vet checkups, watching for any new lumps or changes in his condition.
With dog cancer, early detection is everything. We’ll make sure he gets the care he needs, for as long as he needs it.
